Lone
Tree Corridor Assessment District, #27, Antioch,
CA
As
Engineer of Work, MMS prepared the Engineer’s Report
and led the District formation process. We provided
project management and engineering services for the
design and construction of seven roadway projects totaling
more than 6.5 miles of arterial roadway. Design work
also encompasses trunk lines for storm drainage, water
service, sewers, buried water tanks, open channels,
a detention basin, and landscaping which has allowed
for development on 2,200 acres of land in southeast
Antioch. MMS's services have enabled the City of Antioch
to build additional facilities that benefit local residents,
including new public schools, residences, retail shops
and a community park.
Olympic
Parkway Project Management and Engineering Services,
Chula Vista, CA
MMS
provided project management, plan check, and environmental
support services to the City of Chula Vista for an
eight-mile long, six-lane arterial roadway.
This
project involved grading, channel design, landscape
and irrigation plans, and environmental management.
Total estimated costs of public improvements exceeded
$60 million. MMS was responsible for project oversight
and coordination among City staff, developers, public
agencies, and the environmental community.
Uptown
Oakland Redevelopment, Oakland, CA
MMS
prepared the remapping and ALTAs for a public/private
partnership to consolidate seventy eight separate
properties (four city blocks) into five developable
lots. This project included redevelopment of a blighted
metropolitan neighborhood into four-story mixed-use
of high density residential, office, and ground floor
retail commercial uses. Issues included multiple ownerships,
identification of several utility lines, historical
mapping, street vacation, and timing.
Multi-Purpose
Pipeline, Contra Costa County, CA
MMS
provided
survey and mapping for 22 miles of
new 36-inch water pipeline adjacent to the Contra Costa
Canal. Established horizontal and vertical
control for planimetric and orthographic
mapping, compiled 150 flight crosses and control points,
and set permanent control network for
the Contra Costa Water District. Responsibilities also
included mapping and identifying
easements, utilities, and constraints, as well as research
of ownership rights involving federally
owned land.
City

Vaqueros Project, Contra Costa Water District,
CA
MMS
was proud to be part of the Los Vaqueros Project, honored
by the American Society Civil Engineers (ASCE) with
the 1999 Outstanding Civil Engineering Achievement
Award. The reservoir project has enabled the Contra
Costa Water District to provide higher quality water
to some 430,000 residents and businesses. MMS provided
project management for the $100 million land acquisition
program including reservoir watershed land, intake
/ outtake right-of-way, and relocation of Vasco Road.
Salt
Trunk Sewer (Interceptor), San Diego County, CA
This
project included project management and plan check
for 13 miles of trunk sewer in San Diego County.
Our project management expedited the design of the
Interceptor balancing preservation of the natural environment
with project costs while assuring that the project
met established engineering criteria. MMS coordinated
and facilitated the inclusion of the project in environmental
permits from resource agencies, and with the on-going
development planning process on adjacent properties.
Tasks also included monitoring and observation of project
design and construction progress to assure adherence
to the schedule. One additional highlight of this project
was a 60-inch micro tunnel under Interstate 5. |
